Want this Cobra Sports Car?

Are you sure you are up to a Cobra car? Before I delve into the tips and tricks of buying Cobra car – let us divide this article into two: The first part will focus on buying an oldie Cobra car, while the second part will discuss buying a new Cobra model.

How to acquire an oldie Shelby Cobra Sports Car?

When it comes to oldie Cobra cars – you should first understand that buying such a car is a huge investment for a vehicle that is there to serve you only as a collector’s item. This is definitely not for everyone. If you’re looking for a cool sports car to race and cruise, then there are many other faster and cheaper options. However, if you do decide to become a collector, then owning a Cobra Sports car is a great choice.

In a similar way in which we would buy any other car, there are three main alleys for finding your Cobra Sports Car. These include Sports Car publications, Auction sites and classic car dealers.

Looking for Cobra Sports cars in Clubs

First move would be sniffing through the various Shelby Mustang clubs and publications. I would check the advertisements, trade press and Mustang forums. There are plenty of sellers over there. Here are some examples for well-respected club publications: mustangandfords.com, mustangtek.com, mustang.org, and others.

Bidding for a Cobra Sports Car

If you don’t find what you’re looking for in any of the Shelby Mustang clubs or publications, you can move on to the next arena: The Auction sites. I’d of course start with eBay, but not only. Also eBid, WebStore and OnlineAuction are great sources for Sports car auctions.

Visiting a Classic Car Dealer

The last option for buying your Cobra Sports car is visit reputable classic car    dealers. One of these dealers is www.shelby-cars.com that is located in Dallas, Texas, and is regarded as America’s oldest Shelby Cobra dealer. They list all types of Shelby cars, including modern and classic Shelby Mustangs. You can also find all the affiliated Shelby dealers at Shelby American.

Tip: Check The Serial Number

Before you buy any Shelby Cobra car – ensure you are buying a real Shelby Mustang and not a Cobra clone. Cobra clones were actually real Mustangs that were then revamped to look like a Cobra car. Buying a clone would be a devastating news to any new Collector. How to prevent falling into this scheme? Check the Cobra you are intending to buy, especially it’s Serial Number. The Shelby Registry Publication contains all the serial numbers of the Shelby Cobra Mustangs. Ensure your Serial Number is on that list before you hand in the cash.

How to acquire a new Shelby Cobra Sports Car?

The new Shelby Cobra Mustangs have been designed with aggressive muscle styling, sculpted sides and low profile triangular rear windows, which unmistakably link them with the classic Shelby Mustangs of the 1960s. Their interior of the new Shelby GT500 is quite basic, but it still manages to retain some of the classic styling of its ancestors. Looking for one?

As mentioned, eBay is a great marketplace for old and new Shelby GT500 Mustang models. Most of the sellers on eBay are usually reliable, and to locate your desired model, be it a classic 2007 coupe for example – simply go to the search window and type “2007 Shelby GT500”. You can also refine the results by adding your desired color, trim level and of course – price range. You can even filter the location of the seller, and try to find one in your area.
